Lantern Ants: Cozy Colony is a cozy ant colony game for iPhone. Raise a warm little colony under the roots, send your scouts into the dark with amber lanterns, and bring light back to a world that lost it.

Long description

Once, one great lantern lit the whole world under the roots. The colonies wanted its light at home, carved too deep, and the Great Lantern fell in on itself. The world went dark.

Now a young queen, far from home, has found the last spark in a drop of amber. With her colony and an old firefly called Grandmother Glow, the last Lamplighter, she carries it from region to region, one small lantern at a time.

Dig rooms into the soil, raise workers, nurses, scouts, leafcutters and soldiers, and send your scouts into the fog. Every cell they light can hide food, a rare find or a wild colony to trade, race, ally with or raid. The whole game runs on your phone and plays offline; your colony keeps working while you are away, for up to 8 hours.

Story, without spoilers

The Great Lantern once lit every region through veins of amber; at its top lived talking fireflies, the Lamplighters. The colonies carved it too deep, and it fell in on itself. The game begins under the roots, with a young queen, the last spark and an old firefly saying: “Let me tell you something.” Its heart is one line: light taken goes out, light given burns.
